@DrewSav Let’s interrogate what we even mean by “liberal.” Because it’s not the case, and hasn’t been in a very long time, that the justices appointed by the 2 parties are remotely symmetrical in their judicial or policy goals. Does liberal just mean “good on civil rights” now?On twitter.com

@DrewSav When I think of liberal judges, I tend to think of slightly favoring defendant’s rights (though most on SCOTUS don’t fit that bill), supportive of civil rights more generally, and favoring somewhat expansive views of executive/regulatory power for the public good.Permalink On twitter.com
