    @nycsouthpaw Because that’s not how governance of our publicly traded companies is allowed to work. Corporate governance breaks down to either: Grow at X% per quarter forever, or your stock dies OR Put all the voting shares in the hands of a man-child on the spectrum and hope for the best.

      @nycsouthpaw On a more serious note, it’s because dividends aren’t the main source of shareholder earnings on ownership anymore. Starting with tech companies, the norm is now that shareholders expect to sell stock for profits, rather than profit from holding it per se.
